As traditional recipes dictate our homemade marmalade contains Seville Oranges.  This is one of the only preserves made by us that does not contain ingredients we have grown.  However, it is made using traditional methods, how all marmalades should be made.

The peel imparts a lively bitter taste to the marmalade which we find lovely on fresh bread, toast or as a filling in a spounge cake!

Further Information

Marmalade made from Seville Oranges

Our homemade marmalade is made from the juice and peel of seville oranges boiled with sugar and water.  Although Seville Oranges are the preferred citrus fruit, marmalade can be made with other citrus fruits.

Citrus Fruit Grown at Chilcotts Farm

Unsurprisingly, the seville oranges we use are not grown at Chilcotts Farm.

Perhaps surprisingly, we do grow lemons, limes, grapefruits and sweet oranges.  Not enough for marmalade or to sell, just enough for a few gin & tonics!
